Title IX is a federal law that prohibits discrimination based on sex and gender, which includes sexual harassment and sexual violence.
All public and private schools, school districts, colleges and universities receiving federal funds must comply with Title IX. This law requires Oakton to establish a robust campus response to combat sexual violence and harassment and respond to survivors’ needs to ensure that all students have equal access to education. The response is aligned with Oakton Board Policy 1102 on Sexual Misconduct and implemented by Oakton’s Misconduct Procedures.
