Illinois Institute of Technology

Oakton students can transfer to Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) through our Guaranteed Admission Partnership Agreement.

Benefits

  • No Illinois Tech application fee.
  • Guaranteed admission for Oakton graduates who earned an associate degree. 
  • Eligible to enroll concurrently at Oakton and Illinois Tech after completing 30 Oakton credit hours.
    • Concurrently enrolled students will receive a 10% tuition discount on Illinois Tech's per credit hours tuition rate.
  • A $25,000 Transfer Tuition Scholarship will be awarded to admitted applicants. 
    • Also eligible for additional financial support, including need-based aid and consideration for other available scholarships.
  • Access to dedicated advising and transfer resources to help create a customized plan.

Criteria

To qualify, students must:

  • complete an associate degree OR at least 60 semester credits towards a degree,
  • earn a minimum cumulative Oakton GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale,
  • meet with an IIT Transfer Pathway Advisor for individual transfer counseling and course selection advice once per semester.

Special Note

  • Grades of C or better are required for all transfer courses.
  • Some majors may require completion of specific course prerequisites with a grade of B or better.

Next Steps

  • Submit Transfer Pathway Intent Form [ideally] during the first semester at Oakton.
  • Complete the IIT transfer application online and submit all supporting documentation by the Fall or Spring transfer admission application deadline
    • Submit official transcripts demonstrating completion of an Associate degree or showing the student is registered and enrolled in their last academic term, pending completion of their degree.
    • Evidence of English Proficiency: Completion of an AA/AS degree, or transcripts reflecting completion of at least 2 years of study at a regionally accredited US Institution, or proof of completion of an accepted English proficiency test with a score meeting minimum requirements.
